Our Story

We first met at church camp in the 4th grade, although this wasn't discovered until years later when we met again at TCU.  From camp, Sarah remembers Lauren as the girl who cried for her mom, and Lauren remembers Sarah as the shy, mischievous camper.  Looking back, we could say it was foreshadowing for our meeting at TCU, because our cabin leader, Dee, was obsessed with the color purple.  Years later we discovered that as children we held much in common and were in the same place often growing up.  In college, we became friends through Sociology coursework and the Disciples group on campus, and later as roommates for our last two years in Fort Worth.  After college, life wasn't the same apart and we realized that our friendship had developed into much more. That year Lauren studied Social Work in NYC and Sarah attended divinity school in Nashville. Through many conversations we realized that our friendship was now a love story and we had become each other's definition of "home".  We have now enjoyed five years together as a couple, made several moves, and adopted two giant dogs. We can't wait for what life's next chapter unfolds for us, and we couldn't be more thrilled to celebrate our wedding with family and friends.
